About the faculty
Economic faculty was the only one in 1966 and was used as the basis for Karaganda Cooperative Institute of the USSR Centrosoyuz. The faculty included the chairs of political economy, advanced mathematics, economic geography and economic history, foreign languages, the history of the CPSU, commodity science of industrial and food products, and physical education.
In 1970, the faculty was the first to graduate 190 highly qualified economists of commodity science who made a huge contribution to the development of consumer cooperation in the republic, becoming the organizers of cooperative production, procurement of agricultural products and trade in the countryside. They include: K. Ashlyayev is now the chairman of the board of Kazpotrebsoyuz; Y. Aliakparov worked as the chairman of the Pavlodar regional consumer union and a deputy chairman of the board of Kazpotrebsoyuz; Y. Kadyrbayev worked as a deputy chairman of the Pavlodar regional consumer union and the director of the cooperative college.
Y.B. Aimagambetov, the Rector of the University, D.Sc. Economics, professor and R.O. Bugubayeva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and New Technologies, CES, professor are among graduates of the faculty.
The graduates of the faculty are employed in all business areas in the country and abroad, they work in the offices of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the government, in ministries, government agencies and companies.
The key personnel of the faculty is represented by the heads of chairs, chairmen of the scientific and methodical bureau, the Board of Curators, Committee for matters concerning young persons, who implement the teaching and learning, educational, methodical and research processes.
The academic staff of the faculty is composed of experienced teachers, including 11 doctors of science, 38 candidates of science, 9 PhDs, 32 masters of Science and 9 senior teachers. According to the results of the competition "Advanced Faculty", which had been held for several years in KEUK, the Faculty of Economics, Management and Entrepreneurshipt has repeatedly been honored with this title.
The highly qualified team of teachers and their purposeful work have developed the competitive advantages of the educational programmes implemented at the Faculty in the following specialties: “Economics” (“Economics and Management”), “Management” (“Project Innovation Management”), “State and local management”, “International Relations”, “World Economy” (World Economy - “International Business”), “Ecology” (“Environmental Management”), “Assessment”. Over the past years, all the educational programmes of the faculty have made the top 10 according to the "National ranking of universities" in Kazakhstan. Specialties "Economics", "Management" and "State and local management" train future specialists in a three-tier system: Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree and PhD programmes. The teaching is conducted by well-known professors and associate professors in the country who have been retrained in leading scientific centers and universities in the near and far abroad.
The name of Marina Korzhova, "International Economic Relations" specialty graduate of 2003, Master of sports of international class in athletics, an Asian champion among juniors (2000, 2001), a bronze medalist of the Asian Championship (2002), a silver winner of the Asian Games (2002) in Pusan (Korea) is written in the Golden Chronicle of the university. Ablaikhan Zhussupov, a boxer, the champion of the Olympic Games in Nanjing among youth (China, 2014), is currently studying in the specialty "State and local government".
Students of all Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree programmes are provided with ample opportunities to participate in academic internal and external mobility programmes as a part of inter-university agreements with universities in Kazakhstan and abroad. The university implements more than 100 memorandums of cooperation with foreign universities in Germany, the Great Britain, Spain, the Czech Republic, the USA, Canada, Russia and others. The cooperation agreements with partner universities imply partnership in the field of scientific research, exchange of information materials and literature, participation in conferences, joint fundraising. Close and productive cooperation helps us in supporting the mobility of KEU students from our partners

The Faculty of Economics, Management and Entrepreneurshipt prepares professional workers in accordance with the State Educational Standard. Students receive economic education in seven specialties: economics, management, state and local government, world economy, international relations, ecology and assessment.
The Karaganda Economic University has an effective system of support and incentives for students. The faculty implements several joint programs with leading Russian, Western European and Asian universities.
