Modern mainstream - professionalization of teaching social work

The qualitative improvement of social protection strategies and new social security systems requires the implementation of new approaches and content in the training of social work specialists. The quality of training social workers at a university cannot be ensured without the active participation of the professional community. The Department of Psychology, Pedagogy and Social Work develops close cooperation and interaction with the National Alliance of Professional Social Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the charter of which sets out the task of promoting social work, its status and prestige, as a profession.
At the national winter school on social work named «Professionalization of teaching social work using the approach of rehabilitation at the community level in Central Asia» valuable knowledge was gained - about a two-pronged approach for an inclusive society about the technology of social rehabilitation of people with disabilities at the community level based on the international classification of functioning, case management tools in community rehabilitation programs, and the competencies of a community rehabilitation worker.
The Department of Psychology, Pedagogy and Social Work of the Karaganda Economic University of Kazpotrebsoyuz expresses its gratitude to the executive director of the National Alliance of Professional Social Workers - Dinara Yessimova - and her team for promoting social work as a profession in Kazakhstan and will make every effort for high-quality training of specialists in the education system, social protection and health care for the organization of social work at the community level.
